BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE GIFTS THAT KEEP ON GIVING.
WHAT IS THE FOUNDATION?
The FIRST METHODIST CHURCH OF MABANK, TEXAS FOUNDATION, INCORPORATED, is a Texas non-profit corporation. It was established to provide for the future of our Church’s charitable, education, and religious ministry, as well as for the care of its facilities.
The FOUNDATION is a permanent endowment fund, which means donations are permanently invested for growth, assuring that gifts will be a lasting contribution to our Church specifically.
Those who have given to the FOUNDATION have done so to give thanks to God for blessings bestowed, to express their devotion to Christ and his Church, and to honor loved ones whose lives have served as an inspiration.
HOW WILL THE GIFTS BE USED?
The FOUNDATION maintains three separate accounts:
- Building
- Maintenance
- Missions & Ministries
Gifts may be designated to any of these three areas; if gifts are undesignated, the FOUNDATION’s Board of Directors will determine the specific use to best fulfill the mission and ministry of the church.
ARE FOUNDATION GIFTS TAX-EXEMPT?
Yes. Your gifts to the FOUNDATION are deductible for federal income tax purposes. Bequests, legacies, devices, transfers, and all gifts of value are generally exempt from federal estate taxes and gift taxes.
HOW CAN I MAKE A GIFT?
Cash * Gifts in honor * Memorials * Real Estate * Personal Property * Gift Annuities * Retirement Accounts * Charitable Trusts * Stocks and Bonds * Life insurance * Wills (Bequests)
FROM THE PASTOR
It is becoming more of a necessity for the church to provide creative financing for the future. I can think of no better way than the FOUNDATION.
Through the FOUNDATION we perpetuate our lives as our gifts keep giving. Gifts enhance life for the giver and receiver. I urge your support, however large or small your gifts.
Grace and Peace,
Rev. Dan Gurley
YOUR INVITATION
The FOUNDATION will appreciate any gift granted. No gift is too large or too small. We know that not every individual can nor should make a major gift or leave a major portion of his or her estate to the FOUNDATION. Yet there will be many instances where it will be possible to include the FOUNDATION in planning a major gift today or in the future distribution of your estate. Should you consider making a gift, you may wish to take the following steps:
- Consider the opportunity you have for making a significant Christian gift or bequest.
- Consider the purpose toward which such a gift might be directed.
- Discuss your intentions with your family and heirs.
- Counsel with our Pastor, other directors of the FOUNDATION, or an attorney.
- You may call (903) 887-3691 or Email [email protected].
This is your FOUNDATION, it provides a significant opportunity for expressing your love. The gift you make is truly the one that keeps on giving.
