linda Jackson serves as our Children’s Director, where she is helping our children discover God’s love and grow in their faith, all in a safe and joyful environment.
linda and husband, Richard, have been members of FMC Mabank since 2016. In previous years, linda was a volunteer on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings teaching children not yet in high school.
In 2018, linda was asked to assume the Wednesday night Mini Methodist class, those children completing 1st grade through 5th grade. Wednesday nights include a lesson, a craft, and often an introduction to members of our congregation. She has since organized a Littles group (Pre-K through 1st grade) and led the way to the formation of the WOW Group (Worship on Wednesday), 6th through 8th grade children.
Since 2019, linda has had full responsibility for Vacation Bible School, including planning, coordinating an amazing group of volunteers, purchasing, and helping ensure that each child feels welcomed, loved and excited to learn about God.
When Covid closed all Sunday worship and Wednesday night in person activities, linda prepared and continues to produce a weekly Mini Methodist Newsletter which is sent to each MM via US Mail. She is now preparing issue #296.
linda most recently, organized a church camp experience, and in the past 3 years, the church sponsored 7 campers in 2024, 14 in 2025 and 20 in 2026. linda also attended church camps with our children for the past 2 years.
With a heart for ministry and a love for our children, linda is passionate about our children and committed to building a children’s ministry where every child knows they are valued, loved and made for a purpose.
A note from linda: I am honored to serve in my church through Wednesday nights, VBS and Church Camp. Helping children develop a close and strong relationship with God, helping them love and trust Jesus, helping them grow in their faith – What a blessing! As each leaves class, I draw the sign of the cross on their palm and remind them - “You are a blessed child of God and Jesus loves you.”
