2nd Sunday Men's Breakfast Gathering

FMC of Mabank Men's Breakfast occurs the 2nd Sunday of each month from 8:00-9:00 a.m. All ages welcome! Cooking starts at 6:30 a.m.



Monday Morning Stretching Class

This class will include breathing techniques, stretching, yoga poses, stress management and relaxation.  New students are welcome (men and women).  There is no competition or comparison, we all go at our own pace.  You can practice on a mat or in a chair depending on your personal needs.  There is no requirement to sign up, just come and if you are new, please come introduce yourself to me.  There is no charge....this is a "labor of love" for me.  I am a former yoga instructor of over 30 years and I truly believe it will make a big difference to you both physically and mentally, no matter what age you are, so please come join us!

Emmaus Reunion Groups

We currently have two reunion groups:

  • 11:00 am Monday Morning Group, meets in the Prayer Room.
  • 10:30 am (bi-weekly) Tuesday Morning Group, meets in the conference room.

Emmaus Walk - this is a 3-1/2-day retreat focusing on spiritual growth. Walks are scheduled throughout the year for both men and women. FMC of Mabank is proud to have active reunion groups for both men and women who have participated in the Walk to Emmaus. If you have participated in a walk and are searching for a reunion group, we invite you to join our active groups who meet for prayer, spiritual accountability, and fellowship.


4th Tuesday Book Club Gathering

Fourth Tuesday of each month - meet for lunch at noon (bring your lunch) in the Coffee Area located in the Narthex and at 1:00 pm in the Prayer Room for book discussion. If you love to read and enjoy good fellowship, please join us!

Sisters-in-Service Mission Group

2nd Tuesday of each month at 12:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Our SIS group is involved in many missions such as sending money for milk for the orphanage in Honduras, giving money for school supplies, make donations to the church's God's Helping Hands food pantry, as well as making health bags for Love’s Outreach at Cherokee Shores. In addition, they help support projects throughout the church such as the Lord’s Acre Harvest Festival and Loves Outreach at Cherokee Shores.

Tai Chi (Advance Class)

If you’re looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE). Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai chi is an ancient Asian tradition that, today, is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.

Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.

Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels. In fact, because tai chi is low impact, it may be especially suitable if you’re an old adult who otherwise may not exercise.

It can be effective in improving flexibility, balance, coordination, and concentration. You may see an increase in physical strength and stamina as well as increased range of motion. Many have found the gentle moves, stretching, and turning of tai chi to be an effective therapy for various health problems, including arthritis.

Be sure to wear loose fitting clothes that are not binding. Something that will stretch is good such as sweatpants. Good shoes to wear are ones with a flexible flat sole, like KEDS or SAS sandals.
