Pastor Jim Pegan
Pastor Jim Pegan was appointed to serve First Methodist Church on May 1, 2025. Jim and his wife Susi were born and raised in rural Western New York and come to us after serving Methodist churches full time in New York and North Carolina since 2001. Their family consists of a son, Jim, of Austin Texas and a daughter, Kati, who lives in Killeen Texas with her husband Jon and two young sons, Landon and Micah.
Jim began his professional life in 1988 as a High School Social Studies teacher and athletic coach and was called to ministry in 2000. He holds a master’s degree in education from the University at Buffalo and a master’s in divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. He was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2011 and began serving the Global Methodist Church in 2022.
Jim and Susi have a passion for Christian discipleship and enjoy creating spaces where disciples of Jesus can live, learn, fellowship, and serve in community. Jim enjoys teaching from the Bible whenever he gets a chance and leading people in worship through a variety of musical and spiritual expressions. He also enjoys studying changes in culture and leading churches to adapt to changing times while holding fast to an orthodox Wesleyan tradition. Jim looks forward to fruitful, God-honoring ministry and seeing many lost and seeking souls find salvation, peace, and loving community in Jesus Christ.
